In November and December our volunteers and Food Pantries staff look forward to be able to include turkeys with the food items they distribute each week. Over 1000 turkeys are provided to families, chickens are provided to families consisting of only one or two individuals, and cooked chickens and soups are provided to our elderly clients. This allows their Thanksgiving meal to become something special as they share in the giving of thanks celebrated by so many.
The shut-ins of St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters get their food delivered to them by volunteers who also enjoy spending a little time visiting them. Our Food Pantries that serve hot meals also receive turkeys to complete their holiday feasts for their clients. St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters allow so many less fortunate to be included in the Thanksgiving traditions.
