Over 15,000 Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches were prepared by seven different groups of volunteers from Macy's as part of their efforts to provide hunger relief during their "Bag Hunger" projects in March. Teams were organized by:
  • Yamilena Racuya (on 2 dates) - Manager, Employee Communications & Events for Macy's Merchandising Group
  • Ron Lagman and Anthony Grow - of Macy's Facility Management
  • Bleedmy Jean Baptiste - of Macy's Ready-to-Wear
  • Tara Troy - Manager, Macy's Corporate Communications/Employee Volunteerism
  • Timothy Byrne - Manager, Macy's Selling Effectiveness
  • Bruce Franco (with Tara Troy) - Macy's Cosmetics and Fragrances
The sandwiches were added to St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters "Brown Bag Feeding Programs" at Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens, and Men's and Women's Shelters throughout the New York area. Everyone who received them was thankful to Macy's strong support to St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters to help the less fortunate.
