St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters started off the summer by holding the "Family Barbecue" in the Affinia Manhattan Hotel Ballroom. The party was presented by Con Edison, and Macy's was the Food Sponsor. Over 500 needy clients from one of our Food Pantries gathered for this annual western themed party. We were happy to add a group of young professionals from the American India Foundation to our growing family of volunteers. They joined volunteers from Con Edison, organized by Frances Resheske, Con Edison Senior Vice President, and helped greet the guests and served a great barbecue menu. Country music delighted everyone during the luncheon. Balloon sculptures were also created by some of the volunteers, while others did face painting for the children to add to the fun. This Family Barbecue was another special day for the clients and our volunteers as well - everyone had a great time together thanks to our Sponsors Con Edison and Macy's.
