St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters is very grateful for the support of our Corporate donors and individuals. Even the simplest efforts of organizing various "Drives" helps so many of our clients. The Durst Organization held a "Baby Item" Drive and collected hundreds of items for the smallest of those we serve. Employees from Jones Lang LaSalle also conducted a "Baby Item" Drive - and collected diapers which are in high demand at the locations we help with infants. National Grid turned an employee spirit-building event into a Canned Food Drive to help us restock empty shelves at our Food Pantries. Their event had teams of employees "competing" by creating miniature golf courses built by using canned goods and boxes of non-perishable items. At the end of their day of friendly competition, under the direction of Jim Madej, Senior Vice President & Chief Customer Officer generously donated over 150 cases of food to St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters. Their donation was sent to locations in Brooklyn, where National Grid has their headquarters, giving the employees a true feeling of giving back to their community. New coats were donated by Ross Stores, and the efforts of Mary Ann Fusco and others collected gently used coats and winter wear to help keep our clients warm in the cold weather. These acts of kindness - in their simple forms of giving - bring so much hope to the thousands of people in need in the New York area. St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters heartily thanks everyone involved.
