'Twas the Saturday before Christmas...No, but really...

On Saturday, December 21, 2013, the Christmas spirit could be felt throughout, as we held our St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters Annual Children's Holiday Parties.

Hundreds of children and their parents joined us for a carefree afternoon of holiday family fun. No one was left out, as we had two parties taking place in both Manhattan and the Bronx! The day's festivities included lunch (served waiter-style), face painting, music and dancing, toy "shopping", and even photos with jolly Saint Nick, himself. The adults weren't forgotten either as they received a raffle ticket to win one of several prizes that included gift baskets, home decor, restaurant certificates, gift cards and more.

We were lucky enough to have helpers from Macy's, Time Warner and elsewhere on hand to make sure that the event was magical for all of our excited visitors. Special thank you to Christine Grasser of Macy's and Alex Tapnio of Time Warner who helped us to coordinate all of the wonderful volunteers! Thank you to everyone who pitched in and embodied the true meaning of giving and togetherness.
