St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters' Annual Turkey Distribution was extremely successful this year thanks to the efforts of so many people. Over 7,000 turkeys were delivered to more than 40 Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens and Shelters we help support. Special donations from Macy's, Time Warner, Con Edison and Emigrant Bank provided funds to purchase the turkeys. Delicious Thanksgiving dinners were prepared at Soup Kitchens and Shelters for their clients. Cooked chickens and soup were also prepared and delivered by volunteers to our senior and shut-in clients. Food Pantries added turkeys to their weekly bags of groceries suited for the traditional holiday meal and distributed in time for Thanksgiving. Hundreds of volunteers cheerfully distributed the turkeys at every location offering the less fortunate we serve a wonderful meal with their families and friends. St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters is so thankful to make Thanksgiving a special time for our clients - and grateful to our "family of Sponsors" who allow us to do all we can to help the hungry throughout the New York area.
